Adrianne is having a lot of first's lately... first eye doctor appointment, first dentist appointment and first hair cut - all in about a week's time. The dentist appointment was probably the hardest appointment of them all because she doesn't like to have anyone else's fingers in her mouth but she did great. We go to a
pediatric dentist who just happens to be a friend of ours so at least it was a familiar face to make the appointment a little easier. She wasn't so sure about the tools Dr. Walker had in her hands but once Adrianne had one of her own, she was okay with the dentist using them.

I didn't know that children were supposed to have their first dentist appointment at a year and then have them checked every six months after. Seems like a lot for the 7 teeth she has. I want her to have good teeth like her mommy and daddy so we'll start teaching her early and maybe she'll be 28 with no cavities too!
Our dentist says it's mostly just to get them used to the dentist before they come later for something scary! Our dentist starts at age 2. Our kids have gone every 6 months religiously, we're pretty good brushers, and Calvin has had LOTS of cavities, and Fallyn has had none! ERGH!
ReplyDeleteI think he just must be susceptible. . . especially since his first was on the back of his front top tooth (weird spot, not like a groove where stuff gets stuck). I think some kids just have weaker enamel and stuff!
