Visiting The Wheatley's

Last weekend Adrianne and I went to Champaign, IL with my dad to visit the Wheatley family. I hadn't been to Champaign in 4 years, so it was really good to see my family and for them to meet Adrianne.

Saturday the whole family got together. This was the first time I've ever seen my cousin, Jason's little girl, Reese. Reese was really interested in Adrianne. She wanted to play with her and to help take care of her. This is good since Reese has a little sister coming in November!

We stayed at Uncle Roger and Aunt Mary's house. They were dog and cat sitting for my cousin, Tracy (they were on vacation). Monty (the dog) is a part lab, part basset hound. He was very fun and onery. He got on the bed and sat his head on the edge of her pack n' play and just watched her and whined. He wanted her to play so bad.

Sunday evening Chad, Tracy and Paige came by to pick up their livestock and meet Adrianne. Paige was having so much fun with Adrianne.

Daddy couldn't take off work to go with us so we had to call and talk to him a lot. Adrianne would make the funniest faces when Ryan was talking to her. Sometimes she would even babble back. Adri was very happy to see her Daddy when we got home.

It was a long 10 hour drive to and from Champaign, especially with my father driving (he's an impatient driver - and that's being nice). He was too busy talking on his phone on the way home that he missed his turn in St. Louis so we weren't able to take the interstate around the city and had to drive through it instead. But because he missed the turn, Adrianne got to see the Arch. Well, she slept through it, but at least I got pictures!

We were going to go to Chicago and Champaign earlier this summer but we were really worried about traveling with a new baby. Adrianne was so great in the car. Of course we had to make stops more frequently but she was a real trooper. She slept some in the car but not nearly as much as I thought she would or would have liked her too. About the last hour of the trip she got a little fet up with being in her car seat, but I think that is really good. We'll definitely take her again.
